Kindergarten
The method of instruction in the Kindergarten is “Learning through Play” and is a combination of the traditional system and the X-Seed method of teaching.
Rhymes, Story narration, Art and Craft, Nature Study and Audio-Visual Learning are incorporated to provide a sound and robust teaching-learning experience for the overall development of the children.
Our kindergarten classrooms are staffed with a highly trained and qualified kindergarten teacher and a para-professional to assist the teacher.
Our students walk through the classroom doors by 9:00 am. The morning typically involves a Morning Prayer time at 9:10 am. Large group instruction, songs, stories, and singing are all a part of the morning gathering.
The Kindergarten students have their 'Free Choice' time from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, during this time the children can choose to play with a toy of their choice or watch cartoons. The 'Circle Time' is from 10:00 am to 10:15 am where they do a variety of learning activities, followed by which they have 'Theme Time' the children learn General Knowledge, Science and other subjects.
The children have their day’s first break at 10:45 am, milk and snacks are served during this break. 'Maths time' from 11:00 am to 11:40 am; problem-solving and numerical fluency are taught to the students.
The children have their lunch from 11:40 am to 12:20 pm. Their English language classes are from 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm. Teachers work with the students by helping them apply the learned letter sounds and sound chunks. Emphasis is given on developing all the four language skills of the students - listening, speaking, reading and writing. songs, poems, literature and companion activities are inclusive of the learning program.
From 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm the children have their play time. 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm they have listening classes. At 2:45 pm they have their nap time and they wake up by 3:40 pm. The children are provided milk and snacks. They depart the school at 4:10 pm after a brief prayer and closing activity.
